ABOUT OUR CA WALL BED MECHANISMS

The CA wall bed mechanism (aka ‘The Hideaway’) is our top of the range wall bed system. Designed to be fitted within a custom made cabinet, it uses an automatic leg system.

When folded up against the wall, it has the appearance of the wardrobe doors of a fitted bedroom suite. An adjustable tensioning system on the spring loaded mechanism safely supports the bed in its upright position. Bedding straps are provided to keep duvets and pillows in place.

When the bed is pulled down into position, its action remains weightless, again due to the adjustable tensioning system of the spring loaded wall bed mechanism. This can be adjusted to compensate for varying weights of bedding and doors.

The ¼ doors at the top of bed automatically fold, remaining vertical until the bed is fully folded out where they form the footboard of the bed.
When fitted correctly, the appearance is very clean even when fully open.

The mattress rests on a slatted bed frame which is independent of the doors. This is an advantage over traditional Murphy beds and prevents mattress pressure bowing the doors and reducing humidity transferring to the doors.

 

The frames are tested to 10,000 cycles (using BS EN 1129-1:1995 and BS EN 1129-2:1995) and thats over 27 years of every night use.

The bed should be assembled and installed into a purpose built cabinet by a competent carpenter/ joiner using the appropriate technical specification.
